Policy
We will write a Company Health & Safety Policy which will can issued either digitally or as a booklet. It will describe in 3 parts:
- Your company’s commitment to health and safety.
- How you will manage health and safety in your business.
- It should clearly say who does what, when and how.
Quarterly Workplace Inspections
These take a regular & structured look at the safety standards in the workplace in areas such as:
- Heating & ventilation
- Lighting & electrics
- Safe storage & cleaning standards
- Room dimensions & desks
- Slip & trip hazards
- Safe access & egress
- Stairs & traffic routes
- Kitchens & hygiene
- Fire & first aid provision etc.
Risk Assessments
The inspection will highlight areas where there maybe something that could cause harm:
- Risk assessments allow us to check that we’ve got adequate controls in place to prevent harm.
- If not, what additional controls are needed
- It’s not about huge amounts of paperwork but putting in place sensible measures to control real and likely risks.
- You will also need to look at what people actually do to ensure there is a Safe System of Work
Mentoring
As training specialists, we can offer the opportunity to develop your own in-house skills of inspection and risk assessment as well as teaching various Health & Safety disciplines. This allows a nominated person in your company to take on more of the tasks that are initially completed by us.
